it is at a stand still. multicar crash inner loop of the beltway just above i6. right side of the roadway and left side of the roadway are blocked. not only will i affect traffic to the beltway, it will jam things up on 66 trying to get on to or beyond 495. so heads-up for that. we'll keep you updated. southeast still dealing with the accident, pennsylvania and branch avenues. very little traff getting by at this hour. but the progresss being made. we'll keep a watch on that. out to the rails we go. met metro, vre, camden, 6 minutes behind schedule. >> thanks very much. a developing story in afghanistan. nine service members were killed in a helicopter crash. nato says two others were killed in the crash including a u.s. tizen. an official says the chopper went down in northwestern afghanistan. the cause of the crash is being

investigated but nato says there were no reports of enemy fire in the area. e deaths bring the number of international troops killed in the country this month to 32. this morning the search is on for what happened to a man ound dead just blocks from the u.s. capitol. csx workers found a man's body near the track near second street and east street southwest late las night. police say the body may have been on the tracks for a few days. the body is described as that of a blk man in his 40s or 50s. at this point police don't know how he died. this morning another break in the spring of robberies that has the univsity of maryland community on alert. police have now arrested a second man wanted in connection with one of those attacks in college park. news 4's megan mcgrath joins us live with more on this. good morning, megan. >> reporter: good morning, joe.

there have actually been several robberies surrounding the university of maryland the last couple weeks. police are making progress. following that crime, police say the suspect used one of the victim's credit cards in a convenience store. that's where this surveillance was taken. police have been able to use that videotape to identify the robbers. yesterday they arrested 21-year-old andrew hillox. he's toward the rear of the convenience store. last week they arrested 19-year-old chenor jah. investigators are still looking for the third suspect seen in the video. students at the university of maryland have received veral safety alerts in recent weeks, following a string of robberies. there have been six such crimes since august 8th. it's unclear if some of those crimes are related. the most recent happened early

sunday morning at the parking lot of the college park shopping center. in some cases the suspects had been armed with guns. in other cases they have assaulted their victims before robbing them. and some of the victims have been university of maryland students. others were just people who were in tharea. people are being urged to be extremely careful, especially between the hours of 2:00 and 4:00 a.m. joe, back to you. >> megan mcgrath reporting live. thanks very much, megan. a middle and high school wrestling referee is in big trouble this morning, accused of possessing child poography. he is charged with 10 counts of child pornography. investigators say they found pictures laid out on a table at his home in june asirefighters inspected the residence for fire damage after a fire broke out in his neighbor's town home. neighbors say they are shocked by his arrest. >> at first we thought it was hoarding.

>> at least one noticed an unusu level of poli activity. >> we saw a bunch of police going in there. a bunch were sitting here, waiting and waiting and waiting and they came out with probably seven to nine box of stuff. . the charm card debuts today. it may be a cheaper option even for commuters on metro. it can be used on all of maryland's mta, bus, subway and light rail systems. but the card will alsoe accepted on metro and some regional bus systems, including ride on and the fairfax connector. in turn, smart trip cards will be accepted wherever charm cards will be accepted. but they will cost only $2.50. that's half the price of the smart trip card. they can be purchased online or cvs and giant stores for $10. that means you'll end up with $7.50 preloaded for fares on the card. and this morning the commute is looking easier for riders of the bus in prince george's

county. operators say most of its bus routes are back in service. about 100 drivers went on strike looking for better heating insurance, lunch breaks and better pay. the bus is currently using drivers from other jurisdictions. the federal reserve is set to meet today and continue working on ways to strengthen our economy. the meeting comes as the national bureau economic research announced that the recession is over. they actually say the 18-month-long recession ended in june 2009. many americans are upset with the assessment and voiced that frustration to president obama during a cnbc town hall yesterday. >> i voted for a man who said he was going to change things in a meaningf way for the middle class. i'm one of those people. i'm waiting, sir. i don't have it yet. >> i can describe what's happening to the ecomy ovall, but if you're out of work right now, the only thing that you're going to be hearing is when do i get a job. >> the president also challenged republicans to say how they would cut spending and taxes

involved distracted driving last year. government officials are caing it an 'epidemic. talking on a cell phone. trying or reading a text. behavior some say should not be tolerated. >> we want the way we got drunk drirs off the road is when police arrested them and threw them in jail. we know the reason 85% of the people buckle up today is because tickets have been written and people really get it now. that's where we want to be with distracted driving. >> you're asking people to utterly alter the way they behave for a short time you're behind the wheel. th is a hugely challenging thing to do. >> reporter: according to aaa survey, we are drivers living with major contradiction. using cell phones while driving is dangerous. but 70% admit to still ing them while behind the wheel.

employees moved some material in carts from the building circulation room to a truck parked outside. they plan to let the sun heat up the truck's internal temperature to kill off all the bedbugs. meanwhile, the pests are invading several college,hotel, movie theaters, apartments and homes around the country. a two-day summit about bedbugs will begin today in chicago. more than a dozen entomlogists and other experts will be there. >> with millions of baby boomers at risk, adi says the u.s. needs a national plan like france, austria,ngland. it costs more than $600 billion year to care for people with alzheimer's around the world. researchers expect that number to nearly double in the next 20 years.

remains two right lanes remain closed. all this occurred on the inner loop of the beltway between i-66 and route 7. two left lanes get by. it's jammed leaving springfield all the way up. unfortunatel there is no shoulder because that's part of the construction zone there. we have to wait for the tow trucks to get there. can't move the cars out until the tow trucks arrive a pull them out completely. be forewarned. from springfield to 66 it is a nightmare. over on 66, because of the location of t accident, making for an extremely difficult merge coming in on 66 trying to get on to or beyond the capital beltwy. 66 delays begin centerville most of the way in. that, too, is a parking lot. drop down route 50. toll road. i think those will be much better options than sitting in this on 66. elsewhere at this hour, along i-270, earlier accident at i-70 and 270 is now cleared.

man wanted in connection with one of thosettacks in college park. news 4's megan mcgrath joins us live with more on this story. >> reporter: well, good morng. they have arrested a second individual in connection with a robbery that took place on august the 8th. but there have been several robberies in the aea in recent weeks. police are sti trying to crack those cases. this surveillance video was taken at a convenience store folwing the robbery of two people near the camp of the university of maryland. one of the victims was a student. the pictures have helped police make another arrest in the case. yesterday officers picked up 21-year-old andrew hillox. investigators say he is seen in the vid towards the back of the store wearing a blue shirt. police say the men used one of their victim's credit cards to buy items in the store. last week, police arrested another man in the case. 19-year-old chenor jah. investigators are still looking for the third suspect seen in

the video. students at the university of maryland have received several safety alerts in recent weeks following a string of robberies. many there have been six such crimes since augt 8th. it's unclear if some of those crimes are related. the most recent robbery happened early sunday morning in the parking lot of the colle park shopping center. in some of the cases, the suspects had been armed with guns. in other case, they have assaulted their victims before robbing them. and police have only made arrests in the august 8th case. they have not made any arrests or identified suspects in any of the other robberies. back to you in the studio. >> megan, thank you. 6:55. news 4 kimberly suiters has this morning's top stories. >> good morning again. a lar ton man who referees midle and high school matches is behind bars after a 3 month long investigation. the warrant charges mark bargett with 10 counts of child
